An Image/Video Search Platform with User-Focused Design

An image / video focused data search product

Summary

Nobody has yet solved search for massive amounts of image data, yet we have large silo of TVCM videos and other internal data that would benefit from a more intuitive search.

We would like to discuss the feasibility of such a project, focusing on connecting image / video data together through clustering (esp tsne) methods.

Our focus, if this were to be greenlighted, would be to design the user experience of such a search platform based on user studies.

• stock photo repositories (unsplash etc)
• video repositories
• any user who has a large database of images and would like to quickly find what they want

Questions

• how to organize image / video data (methodologies)
• what are the current and state-of-the-art methods in image search
  • everybody wants to search their data silos as easily as they perform a google search
  • if it is possible to provide an improved search experience for companies with large, private data silos, it would be possible to provide them an internal search platform as a service.
  • think of it as elasticsearch for images / videos
