social game

like the interactive track idea from I2V, where people interact with the environment through object tracked / projection mapped environment, and another person tries his best to navigate it. currently the genre is racing.

what other genres do they fit in?

  1. cooking?
    • people throw ingredients into the camera view, and the person has to cook and serve random cooked stuff
  2. people poses?
    • the longer a person stays in that pose, the more frozen the map gets, so the player has to tell the person on camera to stay in a pose in order for him to complete the level.
    • human bridges - person has to form a bridge to allow player to walk across
    • human holes - person has to make a shape of a hole to generate pathways through walls
    • human trampoline - (fat) person has to lie down belly up to allow player to jump
    • human mallet - person has to smash enemies in game
    • human alphabet - person has to create alphabet shapes to create scaffolding for player to play through
  3. people poses in 3d?
    • human alphabet - human creates poses and every pose capture becomes a section (3d) through space and the player then traverses the space.
  4. kitchen utensils? furniture? cups?
    • no projector needed. can be fully web based
    • pointing at different objects cause the level to assume different material properties
    • when you point the phone at an object, the object detector guesses and changes the level properties.
    • a super tall space, your character's jump cannot reach the top
    • when your phone points at a rubber object, the level turns to rubber and the character is able to bounce up
    • when you phone points at a water object, the level fills with water(?) and the character floats up
    • a super narrow space, you character is stuck in between objects
    • when your phone points at oil or soap, the level becomes slick and you move through easily, but you slide too easily and can overshoot
    • so you then point your phone at sand, and oil mixes with sand to become sludge, or dried oil, and you can move properly again
    • there should be a subset of objects that cover most cases, and are easy to find in your living room / bedroom / outside in the city
  5. only stationery? drawings?
    • draw your own levels in order to bridge levels and allow your character to cross
    • levels are 3d, and you have to draw in 2d to create faux 3d spaces?
  6. literally the z-depth buffer? (depth from video)

other notes

object detection could trigger gameobject generation (throw a ball, and the game generates a ball. throw a dinosaur toy, and the game generates one)

requirements: 1 phone, 1 projector (optional), 1 pc
